##############The CPC updated their subsurface equatorial animation page. It had contained a few blank graphics in the past few weeks.

In the January 3, 2009 graphic, the cross-section below the East equatorial Pacific contains some pockets with anomalies as low as -6 deg C, and they appear to be rising to the surface.
BUT
Off to the west, there’s a warm pocket working its eastward from the Pacific Warm Pool. It will be interesting to watch what happens…in extremely slow motion. I’ll have to check back in a month or so.
